National Good Neighbor Day was ratified as a national holiday in 1978 by then-President Jimmy Carter. The day was first concocted by Montanan Becky Mattson, who wanted to connect with her fellow neighbors in the Treasure State.

The Great Falls Public Library Summer Music in the Park series will take a week off during the Montana State Fair, but we will return on August 6 when Little Jane and the Pistol Whips performs from 7 to 9 pm in Library Park.
The GFPL Adult Summer Reading Program ends on Saturday, August 17 with an After Party celebration at Annie's Tap House at 112 Central Ave from 5 to 8 pm.
