The mission of the Montana Shared Catalog is to connect libraries and their users through resource sharing, collaboration, and cutting-edge technology. The Montana Shared Catalog is a cooperative project involving more than 200 libraries located across the state.

With the Montana Shared Catalog App, you can access the Montana Shared Catalog from your Android or Apple phone or tablet. Once you’ve downloaded it, and you’re signed up, you can search your GFPL library collection and manage your Montana Shared Catalog account for free.

  • Follow these steps to access GFPL in the App and start placing holds:

    1. Open the Montana Shared Catalog App and login. Enter your library card number (no spaces) and your pin. The default pin is CHANGEME. Please call the Library 406-453-0349 if you need help with your pin.
      Search for the item in the catalog.
    2. Find the item and click on PLACE HOLD
    3. Choose your pickup location. (Choose Great Falls Public Library or the Bookmobile depending on where you plan to pick up your item.)
    4. You will be notified by mail, email or text when your hold is ready. If you chose Bookmobile as your pick-up Library, you may pick it up from the Bookmobile. If you chose Great Falls Public Library, you may pick it up at the first-floor circulation desk or at the pick-up window.
