The Great Falls Public Library is excited to announce the creation of three new Early Literacy Programs for children/families in the Great Falls Area.
Starting in September, the library will begin offering advanced Bookworms Storytimes, a new Books and Babies program for children ages birth to 1.5 years old, and an additional Toddler Time on Saturdays.
The Bookworms Storytimes, geared for children ages 3 to 8, will be held on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Cordingley Room. This program for preschoolers and emerging readers K-2nd grade will feature more challenging songs and physical movement and longer stories to build attention span and vocabulary. It is perfect for homeschool families. Regular Storytime will still take place on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 am, as well for children ages 3 to 5.
The new Books and Babies events are set for Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the Cordingley Room. Babies and their families are invited to join us for this fun, snuggly early literacy program for your littlest learners. Babies will enjoy lap bounce songs and a quick, engaging story followed by playtime.
And finally, the popular Toddler Time events will be held on Fridays AND Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:15 am on Fridays and from 9:30 to 10:15 am on Saturdays, with 15 minutes afterward dedicated to playtime. Toddler Times are geared for children ages 1.5 to 3.
Each of these programs were made possible thanks to the passage of the Library Levy in 2023. We’re excited to expand our youth services, and look forward to seeing you and your little one(s) in the library this fall!
