National Good Neighbor Day was ratified as a national holiday in 1978 by then-President Jimmy Carter. The day was first concocted by Montanan Becky Mattson, who wanted to connect with her fellow neighbors in the Treasure State.
To celebrate the occasion this year, the Great Falls Public Library welcomes Brock Cherry, City of Great Falls Planning and Community Development Director. Cherry will join us for a community presentation in the Cordingley Room on September 28 from 10 am to 11 am. It is free to attend. Water and coffee will be provided.

Before this role, he served as the first-ever Community Development Director for the City of Mountain Home, Idaho. Cherry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master of Science degree in Bioregional & Community Design. He is a strong advocate for localism and community engagement.
